Five steps, in order.

  1. 01

    Design

    We walk the property together and I draw it to scale: grades, drainage, where the sun actually lands in July. You see the plan before anyone breaks ground.

    2–3 weeks · $1,200–2,400, credited back

  2. 02

    Build

    Hardscape first: patios, walls, decomposed-granite paths, the base work nobody sees. Done in the right order, so the planting is never dug back up.

    3–6 weeks on site

  3. 03

    Plant

    Natives and low-water Mediterranean stock that survive a Placer County August. Planted in the fall where we can, so roots go down before the first real heat.

  4. 04

    Irrigate

    Drip on a smart controller, zoned by how thirsty each bed actually is. Metered so you can see what the yard drinks, and dial it back without guessing.

    Typically 30–50% less water

  5. 05

    Maintain

    Monthly or seasonal. Pruning, controller adjustments, and the small corrections that keep a two-year-old yard looking like the drawing it came from.
